Halloween is that episode that probably made me fall in love with this television series. It is what I call a "charade episode" and those are the ones that I absolutely love! "From here, is smells like 80 proof!" Ham Radio is another favorite because any appearance Gil Chesteron makes is hysterical. His determination to deliver his "delicious lines" about his "boyhood in Surrey" always brings me to tears from laughter no matter how many times I've seen it. Another good charade in The two Mrs. Cranes, never get's old. The Ski lodge gets my vote because of the lines and the hunky ski instructer's accent. "Please acknowledge your true nature and stop chasing these lesbians!" I chose Mid-Winter Night's Dream because I love any episode where Niles and Daphne are on the brink of getting together and Niles is so cute playing the piano! There is truly one part of Whine club that cracks me up and that is when Frasier tries to look svelte as he gets up from the table after hearing Mel brag about her "X-ray vision." I would be lying if I said "I don't know why" I love the Death and the dog episode. Having a science background I loved the line when Roz chides that Niles and Frasier's ambition would eventually lead them to want to cross the threshold of a Plutonium door to which Niles quickly replied would be ridiculous due to the radioactivity of this element. The Whimper is covers all of the episodes that I love involving the Sea Bee awards. Finally, Roe to perdition makes the list because of the Russian guy saying "you taaaste."
I wish I could have another Top 10 as B-sides to these. A lot of these are later seasons, and that's not to discredit the first few seasons. This show just kept getting better. Here are my reasons for picking these (providing quotes off the top of my head when necessary):
10. Frasier/Niles chest bump at the very beginning.
9. "Hail Corkmaster, the master of the cork. He knows which wine goes with fish or pork." AND "But as I always say, why go merlot when you can ... call a Cab."
8. Michael Keaton. Michael Keaton. Michael Keaton. "BLAAAAAAAAAAAAINE!!!"
7. "singing willow, tit willow, tit willow. I said to him dickie bird, why do you sit? Tit willow ..."
6. Capt. Jean Luc PIcard of the USS Enterprise. One of several where sexual preference is the story and they're just too funny ... not that there's anything wrong with that.
5. The lying episodes are among my faves (The Two Mrs. Cranes, etc.) ... aren't they (me pretending to be Jewish Martin Crane-style).
4. Snobbery, Freddy, spelling bees, cracks about public schools.
3. "Can I get you a toast point?"
2. "Opera queen!"
1. "They should let every body be a giant for a day." "I'm particularly looking forward to something called 'the munchies' where one enjoys bizarre food combinations. I'm thinking of pairing this sea bass with an aggressive zinfandel."
So much more. So so much. Great domain choice. Fun site!
With Something Borrowed, Someone Blue is nice that Niles and Daphne go together. Niles finally get his feelings out, and Daphne has them too.
I find this episode funny, because as Ham Radio is fun and you have to laugh.
Martin Does It His Own Way is also nice, that song stays in your head.
Perspectives On Christmas is fun, they all have their own story and Niles with the elevator is very nice and later with Daphne that she thinks Martin dies, Niles and Daphne consolation.
